Who Is Pretending Carrie Bradshaw Got Hit by a Citi Bike in Fake ‘And Just Like That’ Filming Notices?

News
By Michaela Zee According To The variety)  And just like that… Carrie Bradshaw was hit by a Citi Bike? A series of fake filming notices for Max’s “And Just Like That” have been recently popping up in New York City. These notices, which are circulating on social media, feature bogus plot details about the upcoming third season of the “Sex and the City” reboot. “AFTER GETTING HIT BY A CITIBIKE, CARRIE RETAINS FLETCHER REEDE (JIM CARREY) FROM ‘LIAR, LIAR’ AS HER LAWYER,” one filming notice reads. Another includes a fake plot about Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) revealing to her friends that “she is Garfield the cat.” In a different filming notice, the project details read: “CARRIE GOES ON A BAD DATE WITH MR. BEAN (THE CHARACTER) AND THEN ACCIDENTALLY SENDS HIM A N...

Emmy Nominees Analysis: Diving Deeper Into the Sleeper Hits and Bizarre Landscape Ahead of the Second 2024 Ceremony

News
By Emily Longeretta According To The variety)  Peak TV may be over, but the television landscape is hardly at a standstill. In fact, this Emmy season has delivered the most eclectic list of nominees from the widest variety of platforms in TV history. The lineup of contenders runs the gamut from the spectacle of “Shōgun” to the slow burn of “Slow Horses” to the out-of-nowhere sleeper stalker story of the year, “Baby Reindeer.” By any definition, nominations for the 76th annual Emmy Awards, unveiled July 17, were well outside the box. And while 2024 marks the first time in the history of the Emmys that two ceremonies have been held in the same calendar year, the Sept. 15 show won’t be the same old song and dance. For the first time in 50 years, the top drama seri...

Box Office: ‘Twisters’ Spinning Ahead of Forecasts With $32.2 Million Opening Day

News
By J. Kim Murphy According To The variety)  “Twisters” is twirling, twirling, twirling toward one of the five biggest domestic debuts of the year. The sequel whizzed past projections on opening day with $32.2 million from 4,151 locations across Friday and preview screenings. Outlook for the opening weekend of the natural disaster thriller is now at $74 million — way north of the industry estimates for $50 million to $55 million earlier this week. That puts it in competition with fellow Universal release “Despicable Me 4” ($75 million) for the fourth-biggest three-day debut of the year (though that animated sequel opened on a Wednesday and had grosses dispersed across a five-day holiday weekend frame). The top three North American opening weekends of the year are “Inside Out 2” (...

News
By Zack Sharf According To The variety)  Marvel Studios’ final trailer for “Deadpool & Wolverine” has let two of the movie’s big surprises out of the bag. One is that Lady Deadpool will be popping up alongside many other variants of the Merc with the Mouth. Various teasers for the Marvel tentpole had tipped off Lady Deadpool’s arrival, but this final trailer unveils the character in all her glory for the first time. Now fans will have to speculate which actor is under the mask (Blake Lively? Taylor Swift?). The bigger reveal in the final “Deadpool & Wolverine” is the appearance of Dafne Keen, who memorably played the child mutant X-23 opposite Hugh Jackman in 2017’s “Logan.” That film was supposed to be Jackman’s final outing as his iconic X-Men character, that is u...
