Kumail Nanjiani Says He’s ‘Very Proud’ of His Performance in Marvel’s ‘Eternals’: ‘I Do Not Get to Choose What the Reviewers Are Going to Think’

News
By Payton Turkeltaub According To The variety Kumail Nanjiani got candid about his experience working on the critically panned Marvel movie “Eternals” on a recent episode of NPR’s Wild Card with Rachel Martin, saying that the film changed how he approached work — something he’s “very grateful for.”  “I’m very proud of my performance in it,” he said. “And it’s rare to say, but I actually wouldn’t change anything about how I am in that movie.”  The actor and comedian played the superhero Kingo in the 2021 fantasy film alongside other stars Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan and Angelina Jolie. Wicked: For Good’ Script Changes Improve Disability Representation, but Issues Remain

News
By Kristen Lopez According To The variety Since its release back on Nov. 21, I’ve had several social media followers and friends ask me: “What did you think of ‘Wicked: For Good?’” There’s a hidden undercurrent to this question. They aren’t asking me just because I’m an entertainment journalist and critic; I’m also a disabled person who routinely writes about representation on-screen. So the question they’re really asking is: “What did you think of how they handled Nessarose in the movie?” Nessarose, the half-sister to heroine Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), has been a character I’ve had trepidation over since the movie was greenlit. The first movie in 2024 was a pleasant surprise. I knew they’d have to cast an actual wheelchair-using actor or risk the ire of social media, and Marissa Bod...

When she was also offered the opportunity to direct the feature, Winslet said that her initial thought was that she “cannot do three jobs.” “I know I’m good at multitasking, but this is too many things,” Winslet told Digi Spy. “I desperately tried to recast myself [and] had a really good list of a handful of people who would have been absolutely brilliant in that role.” She continued, “But at that point… well, first of all, Netflix was like, ‘Uh-uh,’ and secondly, I’d cast all these incredible actors. How could I not g...
