Box Office: ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ Makes $5.9 Million in Previews

Box Office: ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ Makes $5.9 Million in Previews

News
By Jordan Moreau (According To The variety) It might take some “Bad Boys” to save this summer’s bad box office start. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence‘s “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” has made $5.875 million in Thursday previews at the box office so far. Sony and Columbia’s fourth “Bad Boys” movie, and the follow-up to 2020’s surprise hit “Bad Boys for Life,” is expected to open between $45 million and $50 million this weekend. However, Sony has a smaller estimate at $30 million. The more conservative projection could be overly cautious due to the growing number of summer films, such as “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “The Fall Guy,” that have failed to connect with theatergoers. With the summer box office far behind previous years’ grosses, theater owners are hoping for some relie...

Nicole Kidman Says ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3 Is in ‘Good Shape’ and Moving Ahead ‘Fast and Furious’: Author Liane Moriarty ‘Is Delivering the Book’

News
By Zack Sharf (According To The variety) Nicole Kidman and her “Big Little Lies” co-star Reese Witherspoon reunited for a recent Vanity Fair video interview and briefly touched upon a potential third season of their Emmy-winning HBO series. Kidman has spoken publicly on numerous occasions about “Big Little Lies” Season 3 moving forward, to which Witherspoon now said: “This one has already said too much.” “I got excited,” Kidman admitted about letting some “Big Little Lies” Season 3 news slip out prematurely. “We need to shut up. There’s a whole thing about how you should never talk about something until you’ve done it because if you talk about doing it then it’s the dopamine hit of doing it and you feel like you’ve done it. It’s a scientific study.” But that didn’t ...

News
By Zack Sharf (According To The variety) “Saturday Night Live” hair stylist Jodi Mancuso and makeup artist Louie Zakarian recently told The Ankler (via People) that the now-iconic Beavis and Butt-Head sketch with Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day was originally pitched for host Jonah Hill in 2018. The “Superbad” favorite hosted the Nov. 3, 2018 episode during Season 44 with musical guest Maggie Rogers. “Even at that time it was late coming into the show, so there wasn’t a lot of prep time and I wasn’t fully happy with the wigs. Then I think we tried it again, and again I wasn’t happy with it,” Mancuso said. “So we fully gave up on it, this is not going to happen.”  The sketch finally made it to air in April 2024. Heidi Gardner played a NewsNation anchor host...
